Charlie Tilson possibly out until late May, but White Sox haven't named center fielder

White Sox outfield prospect Charlie Tilson will wear a walking booth for three more weeks and might not make a return until late May, the Sox said Sunday.

Tilson is recovering from a stress reaction in his right foot and has been wearing the boot for a couple of weeks. He said Sunday a recent re-evaluation indicated he needs to stick with it longer.

Even after he leaves the boot behind, Tilson likely would need at least a month to ramp up baseball activity before he could play in games.

“It’s likely going to be a process from there, but it’s one of those things where you have to listen to your body,” Tilson said.
