“Having an outing like (Thursday’s) before the season is huge,” Cease said Friday. “I feel like I’m as confident of a player as I’ve ever been right now.”
“I think you couldn’t draw it up any better,” Cease said. “For the most part, I was locating where I needed to. If I could take that into the regular season, I’ll be very happy.”
“Another thing is it’s just another year under his belt,” Renteria said of Cease, who is entering his second season. “Every year you go out and perform, this is a new season albeit this will be a short one, he has gained more confidence and learned from his experiences, made adjustments and will build on that.
