The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Nathan Eovaldi on the 15-day injured list Friday with a right groin strain.
Fellow right-hander Yerry Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock to take the roster spot.
Eovaldi, 34, scattered two hits and struck out eight batters over 5u2153 innings in a 6-0 win over the Washington Nationals before exiting with an ailing groin. He picked up the win to improve to 2-2 with a 2.61 ERA in seven starts this season.
