NFL authorized Guardian Caps to be worn during games in 2024

If there’s one challenge the NFL has in 2024 and beyond, it’s player safety.

As players continue to become bigger and faster, helmet-to-helmet hits will continue to be brutal and could dissuade future generations from ever stepping onto the field.

The NFL decided that it will now allow players to wear Guardian Caps, the cushioned sleeve stretched over the helmets we see during training camp, during the regular season in an attempt to minimize traumatic brain injuries.

To reduce player risk and continue driving innovations in equipment technology, Guardian Caps have been authorized for in-game use this season.
