I don’t think most people going into the Dodgers series were expecting too much. The Wild Card contender vs. All Time Great Team probably is going to go in favor of the Wild Card team too often. Giving up eight runs twice in three games also probably won’t win you many games. But hey, the bullpen game worked out great. YCPB.
The Padres, on the other hand, are also solidly in the Wild Card contender category. They’re only a game ahead of the Diamondbacks right now, and a game and a half behind the Reds for the third spot.
