Bulls fall in first game at No. 5 ECU

GREENVILLE, N.C. (May 3, 2024) – The University of South Florida Bulls (22-23, 8-11 AAC) dropped the opener of a three-game weekend series at No. 5 ECU (36-8, 15-4 AAC) on Friday night in seven innings, 11-1.

Bobby Boser (Wesley Chapel) and Drew Brutcher (Lakeland) accounted for four of South Florida's five hits in the game against right-hander Trey Yesavage. Yesavage, named to the Golden Spikes Award midseason watch list and the NCBWA National Pitcher of the Month for April, improved to 10-1 and lowered his ERA to 1.69.

Brutcher had a would-be home run deflected by the ECU left fielder in the top of the first inning and settled for a double.
