LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Western Michigan softball team topped the program record, with 17 student-athletes recognized for their academic excellence by earning 2022-23 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors. The Broncos broke the previous team record of 14 student athletes with a minimum of a 3.5 GPA, set last season.
To qualify for this distinction, student-athletes must have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout the 2022-23 academic year.
In the 2022-23 academic year, WMU was one of 80 teams in NCAA Division I to post a GPA of 3.5 or more. Nine of Western's honorees were Academic All-MAC recipients (In bold).
