Mavs nip OKC, 117-116, reach conference finals for second time in three seasons

For the second time in three seasons, the Dallas Mavericks punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals.

The Mavs overcame a massive 17-point deficit in the second half en route to chasing down and nipping the Oklahoma City Thunder in electric fashion, 117-116, on Saturday night before a boisterous sellout crowd of 20,555 at American Airlines Center. In winning this Western Conference semifinal best-of-seven series, 4-2, the Mavs advanced to the conference finals where they’ll face either the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets or the Minnesota Timberwolves.
