Richmond, Ky.--- The Xavier women's tennis team picked up its first win of the season at Eastern Kentucky by a score of 6-1.
Head Coach Doug Matthews was encouraged by the result. "EKU has a good program and were picked preseason to win the OVC," said Matthews. "We talked a lot about urgency today, especially during the doubles. I felt we did play with urgency and won a close doubles point. In singles we played well and won most of the tight sets. We need to build on this for tomorrow against Indiana."
The Musketeers won five of the six singles matches.
