NEW YORK – Mikayla Fitzpatrick earned the first-ever BIG EAST Freshman of the Year on Thursday, capping a historic first year on the links for Xavier women's golf.
The first XU freshman named to the All-BIG EAST First Team had a remarkable rookie season, playing in the top position for the Musketeers all season.
Fitzpatrick finished tied for 10th at the BIG EAST Championships in late April, firing a 230 (+14) over three rounds. Her performance, including a final round 73 (+1) helped lift the Musketeers into fourth-place overall at the tournament.
For the season, Fitzpatrick ranked seventh in the BIG EAST and led XU with a 76.
