CINCINNATI- The Xavier men's tennis team defeated BIG EAST Conference foe Marquette, 4-3, on Saturday and raised XU's league record to 2-0.
The Musketeers won four singles matches and one doubles match in the win over Marquette on Saturday. Matt Bishop won the decisive match at No. 1 singles 6-3, 3-6, 7-6(4).
Jack Dykema won at No. 3 singles, Trent Smith at No. 4 and Gabriel Araujo at No. 5. In doubles play, Jeremy Schneider and Connor LaFavre won their No. 2 match, 6-4, but XU lost the double point 2-1.
