TAMPA, Fla. – Louisville City FC forward and Xavier men's soccer alum Luke Spencer was named the United Soccer League Player of the Week on Tuesday after scoring and adding two assists for his club in a 5-0 win against FC Cincinnati before 13,812 fans. Spencer led a powerful attack against his hometown and former club, helping Louisville FC to its widest margin of victory in USL history.
The Winton Woods High School graduate received 39 percent of the poll conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL market.
Spencer was the first-ever Xavier soccer player to be taken in the MLS SuperDraft when he was selected 23rd overall in 2013 by the New England Revolution.
