CALLAWASSIE, SC --- Xavier University finished runner-up at the 2016 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship Presented by Jeep with a three-round total of 891 (+27). Georgetown won the tournament with an 864 (E) over the three days on the par 72 Dogwood/Magnolia Course at Callawassie Island Golf in Callawassie, S.C.
Xavier completed its second round today. Xavier, trailing by just eight strokes entering the resumption of second-round action this morning, was not able to keep pace with the hot-scoring Hoyas.
Xavier University sophomore Jose Montaño, a native of Cochabamba, Boliva, earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team and was Xavier's top finisher as he recorded a three-round total of 2-under-par 214, which was good for a tie for third place.
