PHOENIX, Ariz. - Xavier baseball led going into the sixth inning, but fell victim to big rally in a 25-18 loss against Grand Canyon on Saturday night at GCU Ballpark.
The game took 4:12 to complete and saw XU lead 10-5 going into the sixth before Grand Canyon rallied for 16 runs. Xavier responded with eight runs in the eighth inning and left the bases loaded in the ninth, falling in a wild game to wrap up the series.
XU returns to action for one more date on its spring break trip, playing New Mexico State on Sunday with a 2 p.
