Wyoming volleyball team drops exhibition opener

The University of Wyoming volleyball team fell to Northern Colorado 3-1 (25-15, 17-25, 25-18, 25-20) on Friday in its exhibition opener.

The Cowgirls were led by junior Emily Lewis with 12 kills while Halie McArdle added nine kills. Marissa Harmon had a match-high 31 assists for Wyoming, with Madi Fields led all players with 17 digs and Reed Copeland added seven blocks.

Wyoming opens the regular season this coming weekend when it hosts the Rumble in the Rockies tournament. The Cowgirls face South Dakota in their opener before playing Abilene Christian and Portland.
