The University of Wyoming volleyball team got its Mountain West season started on the right foot with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-23) sweep of San Jose State on Thursday in Laramie.
Kayla Slofkiss had nine kills for the Cowgirls (8-6, 1-0 MW), while Laura Beach added seven and Reed Copeland six. Copeland also had 11 blocks.
Courtney Chacon led UW with 20 assists and six digs; Madi Fields added four digs and Bayly Poor (Jackson) had six blocks.
