Despite Wyoming's 56-35 loss to New Mexico on Saturday, with San Diego State's 63-31 loss Saturday to Colorado State, the Cowboys will host San Diego State for the Mountain West Championship, the conference announced Sunday.
The host was determined by a composite of computer polls, as neither team was rated in the most recent College Football Playoff poll. The Mountain West uses the Anderson & Hester, Billingsley, Colley Matrix and Wolfe computer polls as a tiebreaker. Wyoming leads the Aztecs in the newly updated Colley Matrix (46 to 49) and Wolfe (46 to 55) polls. San Diego State leads in the newly updated Billingsley Poll (52 to 54).
