The University of Wyoming men's swimming and diving team is in first place after the first day of competition at the Western Athletic Conference Championships in Houston, Texas, with a three-point lead over second-place Air Force (114-111).
The Cowboys' 200 medley relay team of Wade Nelson, Gabe Rooker, Kyle White and Liam Metzsch started the day with a bronze-medal finish. Their time of 1 minute, 27.25 seconds was their fastest of the year and just a single one-hundredth of a second off the school record.
