Interview with Tyler

Professional Athletic Experience:

Nothing, but I did play a bunch in high school including, basketball, tennis, track, a little football and rugby. I did dabble in Wake Forest club volleyball, but it was a little too physical, so I'm stuck with intramural sports or just watching from a distance and writing about it.

Favorite Sport to Watch?

NBA basketball. When Lakers are on, I don't care how much work I have or what prior engagements conflict, the Laker game is on and people tend to understand that about me. Although, nothing really beats watching the World Cup Soccer or Olympics when they roll around.

Favorite Sport to Play?

Beach volleyball; you're at the beach, getting a work-out, plus get to check out the scenery and cool-off in the ocean after.

Best name for an Athlete not named D'Brickashaw Ferguson?

The only way you compete with a lineman having the name "Brick" in his name would be allowing a historically hostile, abusive and technical foul-ridden basketball player to change his name to Metta World Peace.

Favorite Sports Moment?

In my life time? Okay, we'll stick to that and it still has to be Kobe coming back from multiple deficits to force two overtimes against the Suns in the 2006 playoffs. Even though the Suns came back and won the series as the Lakers got complacent, those overtimes and clutch shots remain forever ingrained in my head. Close second would be Derek Fisher 0.4 second shot tied with Wake Forest's 2009 defeat of UNC in the final seconds my sophomore year.

Athlete look alike?

The, "hey, you look kinda like Mark Sanchez" statements never seem to stop, I wish they would the more interceptions he throws, but he's a USC, Southern California, Hispanic, southern guy and I appreciate that. Could be worse, I could look like Ben Roethlisberger post-accident, yeesh.

Favorite Sports Figure:

John Wooden. The man was, and continues to be, a legend as the best SPORTS coach of all time and an even greater human being.
