Interview with Jake
Athletic Experience:
I’ve played the three major sports: baseball, football, and basketball. I played football and basketball up until 8th grade, while I played baseball all the way through my senior year of high school.
Favorite sport:
Hands down, baseball. The superstition, the culture, the rivalries, I love all of it. There’s nothing like watching a no-hitter, or watching exciting back and forth games of baseball that keep you on the edge of your seat. The fact that you can be down to your last out, and win a game with one swing
Favorite Sports moment:
This one is definitely a tough one. It’s a tie between Barry Bonds’ record-setting 73rd home run, and the World Series champion San Francisco Giants 2010 season. Though I did not see the World Series in person like I did for Bonds’ home run, being able to call my favorite team champions brings a special feeling like no other.
Sports Dream:
To spend an entire baseball season traveling to every major league stadium there is, and watch a three-game series there. Now all I need to do is to win the lottery...
Favorite Athletes:
Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, Bo Jackson, Doug Christie, Jeff Kent, Logan Couture, Robb Nen, Freddy Sanchez.
Favorite sports movies:
Major League, Radio, Happy Gilmore, and Rookie of the Year.
Favorite Sports Quote:
“Fans don't boo nobodies.”-Reggie Jackson. “If winning isn’t everything, then why do they keep score?”-Vince Lombardi. “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”-Ricky Bobby
