Wisconsin wins latest edition of Border Battle vs. Minnesota in overtime

No. 17 Wisconsin escaped Williams Arena with a 78-76 overtime win over Minnesota on Saturday.

The Badgers (16-3, 5-1) edged out the Golden Gophers (15-5, 3-4) behind 20-point performances from Ethan Happ, who scored a career-high 28 points, and Nigel Hayes, who added 21.

Happ also hauled in 12 rebounds en route to his seventh double-double of the season and scored 23 of his game-high 28 points in the second half.

Minnesota was paced by Amir Coffey, who scored 19, and Akeem Springs, who chipped in 16.

Wisconsin was able to defy the odds, shooting 50 percent from the three-point line (7-of-14) against Minnesota, which came into the game leading the Big Ten in holding opposing teams to shooting 28 percent from behind the arc.
