UW punt team works on keeping foes in rough spot

Madison — Drew Meyer's assignment was clear.

Hit the ball high enough so that the Wisconsin gunners had sufficient time to get down the field and get into position to make a play or possibly catch the ball in the air. Yet UW's redshirt senior punter also had to use the proper touch so he didn't drive the ball into the end zone for a touchback.

Natrell Jamerson's assignment was clear.

Get down the field as quickly as possible, find the ball and keep it out of the end zone.

With UW clinging to a three-point lead late in the third quarter against Purdue, Meyer and Jamerson both executed their assignments beautifully to pin the Boilermakers at their 5.
