Nigel Hayes put it well after the Wisconsin Badgers lost their Sweet 16 matchup in overtime to the Florida Gators in heartbreaking fashion at Madison Square Garden.
“Sometimes, you get out-luckied…We got lucky to send it to overtime, and they one-upped us to win the game.”
That “one-up” that Florida hit should not define this team or these group of seniors. Those four guys, Hayes, Koenig, Vitto Brown, and Zak Showalter, have helped put Wisconsin on the map in terms of college basketball and turned it into one the most successful programs in the country.
