PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Junior Ryan Taylor collected the only pin by either team in the opening bout at 133 pounds as the University of Wisconsin wrestling team defeated No. 12 Rutgers 18-15 on Friday night for its first Big Ten Conference dual meet victory of the season.
UW (2-5, 1-3 Big Ten) and Rutgers (13-4, 3-3) were tied at 15 entering the final match before sophomore Johnny Jimenez posted a 7-4 victory over Sean McCabe to provide the winning margin.
Jimenez, who entered the match without a win over a ranked opponent this year, took the edge at the top of the third period with an escape and immediate takedown.
