Badgers sports: NCAA awards Wisconsin $1 million in one-time supplemental payout

The University of Wisconsin athletics department will receive a little more than $1 million from the NCAA as part of a one-time supplemental distribution of money to Division-1 schools.

The NCAA will give out $200 million to its member schools in mid-April. The amounts given to each school vary depending on the number of athletic scholarships the school gave out to student-athletes in the 2013-14 academic year.

UW was one of 11 schools receiving more than $1 million. Ohio State was awarded the most at more than $1.3 million. Michigan, Penn State, Michigan State and Minnesota were also in the top 11.
