Jacob Trouba wants out of Winnipeg.
The restricted free agent defenceman’s agent released a statement on Saturday night, suggesting his client wishes to be traded from the club that drafted him ninth overall in 2012. The statement said Trouba will not report to Jets training camp, which began on Thursday.
The statement, which can be read below, states that Trouba wanted an expanded role on the right side of the Jets blue line and that contract negotiations had stalled over the last several months. The release from Trouba's camp also states that they've been trying to work a deal since May.
