Report: NFL Making Game Ball Rule Changes After Deflategate

If there was one guaranteed outcome from the Deflategate scandal, it was rule changes to game-ball preparation on the day of games.

There needs to be one system of rules for how the balls are prepared, stored and monitored before and during the games, and the NFL reportedly will try to make this a reality.

According to Mike Pereira of FOX Sports, some of the rule changes include two officials “to conduct a pregame inspection to make sure all footballs meet the required specifications,” numbering all 24 balls, and taking a PSI measurement of every ball and writing it down for an official record.
