Nina Leeper may be the biggest Landry Shamet fan around, and she certainly felt like the luckiest on Monday as she celebrated her 100th birthday with a surprise gift from the player she calls "my boy."
After Leeper's attempts to meet Shamet during the basketball season fell through, the Wichita State star who recently declared for the NBA Draft surprised Leeper on Monday with a package sent to her hospital room.
An illness had hospitalized her, and her health had deteriorated to the point where she was in and out of consciousness.
But when Shamet's package arrived, including a hand-written, get-well card and three autographed pictures, Leeper perked up.
