Redbirds Hand Shockers First MVC Loss

NORMAL, Ill. – Wichita State saw its seven-game road winning streak come to an end Saturday night at the hands of Illinois State, 76-62, in a battle of Missouri Valley Conference unbeatens.

Wichita State (15-4, 5-1 MVC) suffered its second-worst shooting performance of the season, converting on just 34.9 percent of its field goal attempts. The Shockers shot 31 percent earlier this season in a loss to Louisville in the Bahamas.

For the opposition, Illinois State (14-4, 6-0 MVC) converted on 54 percent of its shots, including 10 three-pointers out of 22 attempts.
