Men Win Title, Women Second at MVC

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Wichita State's men's indoor track and field team won the Missouri Valley Conference Championship by a margin of nine points, 141.5 to 132.5 over SIU, Sunday afternoon while the women's team took runner-up honors to Illinois State. | Meet Results

The men's championship for WSU, which broke a string of seven MVC indoor and outdoor runner-up finishes, was the men's second overall title. The first came in 2010.

Today's men's performance was highlighted by Jared Belardo, who swept the horizontal jumps with a second title, this time in the triple jump with a distance of 51-2.
