Men Lead, Women Second After Day One

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Wichita State men finished day one of the American Athletic Conference Championships with the lead, while the women sit in second.

The Shocker men scored 40 points behind all-conference performances from Rayvon Allen, Jared Belardo, Hayden Bugner and Cory Martens. While the women scored 31.5 points, including two conference event titles.

Winny Koskei continues her American Athletic Conference reign, the redshirt sophomore won the 5000m with a time of 16:23.64. The women scored another 10 points as the distance medley relay group of Yazmine Wright, Trudy Martin, Tianna Holmes and Rebekah Topham made a historic comeback to take the gold with a time of 11:32.
