Late Outburst Lifts Sooners Past WSU

WICHITA, Kan. -- Oklahoma scored seven runs over the final two innings to turn a close game into a comfortable 11-2 win over Wichita State on Tuesday night at Eck Stadium.

The Sooners (16-12) led 4-1 entering the top of the eighth but struck for four runs in the inning on a catcher balk, a wild pitch, a Michael Snyder RBI double and a pickoff. Then Oklahoma tacked on three more runs in the eighth, highlighted by a two-run double from Bryce Madron.

The outcome was largely determined in the sixth and seventh innings when Wichita State (18-10) had two big opportunities to cut into the Oklahoma lead.
