The American Athletic Conference announced on Wednesday that Ft. Worth has been selected to host the conference’s men’s basketball tournament for three years, starting in 2020.
The tournament will be held in Dickies Arena, a venue currently under construction and slated to open in November of 2019. The building will seat 14,000 spectators.
“We are delighted to partner with the city of Fort Worth and Dickies Arena for our 2020-22 Men’s Basketball Championships,” said American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco in a news release.
“This three-year agreement will bring our Men's Championship to a vibrant, sports-minded community that embraces major events and extends wonderful hospitality to visitors.
