Gregg Marshall was named the National Coach of the Year by the National Association of Basketball Coaches after the 2013-14 season when the Shockers finished the regular season 34-0 and earned a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
CBS Sports thinks Marshall could win the award again this season, as it choose the Wichita State coach as its preseason Coach of the Year on Thursday.
“That was a fun team with Fred Van Vleet, Ron Baker, Cleanthony Early, and Tekele Cotton,” CBS Sports’ Matt Norlander wrote. “But this group this season might be better.
