FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Wichita State All-American alum and Wichita native Austin Bahner placed seventh at the 2016 Thorpe Cup, an annual dual competition of multi-athletes in the Heptathlon and Decathlon between Germany and the United States.
Wichita State Director of Track and Field Steve Rainbolt helped coach the U.S. Decathlon team to the win against Germany as Bahner's 7,593 points was the sixth-best of the Americans. Only one German finished in front of the Wichita Heights and Shocker product who improved from a ninth-place finish in 2014.
Bahner placed third in the 100 meters with a time of 10.
