WMU tight end Donnie Ernsberger ready for expanded role in new offense

KALAMAZOO, MI - Roll back the calendar a few decades, and Donnie Ernsberger would still feel right at home.

Coaching legends Vince Lombardi, Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes would be chomping at the bit to bring Western Michigan's 6-foot-3, 255-pound Mack truck of a tight end onto their teams.

If the cable package in heaven broadcasts WMU football, you can be sure the former coaches are smiling down on Ernsberger's role as a blocking specialist in a time when spread-and-shred has replaced the 3-yards-and-a-cloud-of-dust philosophy.
