KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Over the past week in the NBA Summer League, former Bronco great Shayne Whittington shined off the bench for the Dallas Mavericks in hopes of earning an NBA contract.
In five games, Whittington averaged 18.8 minutes per game off the bench and ranked fifth on the team with 9.2 points per game and fourth on the team with 4.8 rebounds per game. The former Bronco also averaged 1.0 assists, 0.60 steals and shot a staggering 52 percent from the field.
Whittington scored in two of the five games played including a 19-point performance against Croatia to lead all scorers.
