OXFORD, Ohio -- The Western Michigan track and field team opened the outdoor season with strong results at the Miami (OH) Blizzard Buster this afternoon.
opened the meet with a throw of 49.93 meters in the hammer throw to finish in second place. Mariah Sackett and Kennedy Hagens were able to post marks of 40.51 meters and 40.40 meters, respectively.
Following that, Tess Van Dyk won the shot put with a throw of 13.57 meters. Lane Hagens was sixth with a mark of 12.02 meters.
