Robert Bala Announced as WMU Defensive Coordinator

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan football program and head coach Lance Taylor have announced the hiring of Robert Bala as the team's new defensive coordinator.

Bala joins the Broncos after spending a year as the inside linebackers coach at Alabama. Bala helped the Crimson Tide defense rank 18th in the nation in yards allowed per game and 17th in points per game allowed at 18.4.

"We are thrilled to welcome Robert Bala as our new Defensive Coordinator," said Taylor. "Robert brings an impressive wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. His coaching acumen, coupled with his dynamic recruiting skills, make him an invaluable addition.
