CLEVELAND – The Mid-American Conference announced its 2023-24 Academic All-MAC Team on Wednesday, with Western Michigan redshirt freshman Max Burton and sophomore JaVaughn Hannah among the league's honorees. It is the second academic award in recent weeks for the duo, who were both named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team last month.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for student-athletes who excel in both athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
