Western Michigan women’s basketball could not complete the upset over No. 1 seeded Toledo Wednesday, falling 72-61. The loss knocks the Broncos out of the MAC Championship and ends its season.
Senior Hannah Spitzley did what she could to help her team win by scoring 20 points on 64% shooting while tallying nine rebounds. She played 36 out of 40 minutes. Only Kaitlyn Zarycki played more as she was on the floor for 39 minutes. Zarycki scored 12 points and had seven assists.
The Broncos came out firing in the first five minutes as it went up 14-5 in that span.
