PORT CLINTON, Ohio – The Western Michigan golf team and junior Julia Champion both sit at the top of the leaderboard after two rounds of play at the 2016 Rocket Classic at the Catawba Island Golf Club on Monday.
WMU combined to shoot a 36-hole score of 601 (+25) and sits six strokes ahead of second place Eastern Kentucky at 607 (+31). The host Rockets sit in third at 609 (+33). No other school in the 14-team field is within 10 strokes of the Broncos, who shot an opening round 300 and 301 in the second round.
