Toppers drop midweek contest to Austin Peay

After falling behind by seven runs, the Hilltoppers scratched back to within four with two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth.

Leading off the seventh, Hunter Wood lined a double to left field and scored on Chris Rogers' double. Later in the inning, Grayson Ivey drove in Rogers from third base with a ground ball up the middle on a 3-2 pitch.

In the eighth, Colie Currie led off with a triple off the center-field wall – his team-best fifth of the season – and was driven in by Steven Kraft's single.

Bailey Sutton made his first career start for WKU, going three innings while allowing two runs.
