Years of Rick Stansbury’s basketball relationships led to Western Kentucky recently adding two key pieces to its 2017-18 roster.
Forward Dwight Coleby and guard Darius Thompson both elected to play their graduate senior seasons for Stansbury’s Hilltoppers.
The Virginia transfer Thompson signed in May, while the Kansas transfer Coleby pledged to WKU earlier this month. Both players have arrived on campus to begin preparing for their first and only season in Topper uniforms.
The two veterans are eligible right away thanks to the NCAA’s graduate transfer rule. They’ll provide valuable experience to a 2017-18 WKU team long on talent but short on veteran players.
