Speedy Echols-Luper ready to finish college career at WKU

“I’m fast,” the new Western Kentucky wide receiver said with a smile Monday after practice. “God blessed me with the gift of speed and I’ve just been able to use it.”

Echols-Luper’s speed made him a track and field star from 2013-14 at TCU earned him the title as Sporting News’ Fastest Receiver in the Sun Belt Conference last year at Arkansas State.

Now the graduate student will look to use his game-breaking speed as a weapon for the Hilltoppers’ 2017 football team.

Echols-Luper officially joined the WKU program last week as a graduate transfer. He completed undergraduate requirements at Arkansas State, where he spent the last two seasons, earlier this month.
