WVU coach makes contribution to hometown hospital

MADISON, W.Va. — West Virgina University defensive coordinator Tony Gibson doesn’t forget where he’s from. The Boone County native and Van High School graduate recently donated $25,000 to the Boone Memorial Hospital Building Project.

“My family and I wanted to give back to the community that has given so much to us,” said Gibson.

Ground was broken for the new hospital in August 2014 and it is scheduled to open in spring 2016.

Gibson made the donation while attending a golf outing at Riverview Country Club in Madison. He was there to support the event which raised funds for scholarships for Boone County students to attend WVU.
