“We didn’t finish the tournament as well as we would have liked, but we saw some positive progress this weekend,” coach Miha Lisac said. “Today Habiba (Shaker) and Christina (Jordan) earned a good win in doubles and we found ourselves in some good battles in singles.”
The Mountaineers opened the day with doubles play, but were only able to win one of three matches. Habiba Shaker and Christina Jordan defeated Kansas’ Nina Khmelnitckaia and Tatiana Nikolaeva, 6-4. Kaja Mrgole and Lyn Yuen Choo fell to Arkansas’ Peyton Jennings and Sasha Shkorupeieva, 6-1.
