MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — One of the first players offered a scholarship to West Virginia by new coach Neal Brown is also the first in the Class of 2020 to say yes to the Mountaineers.
Wide receiver Reese Smith, a three-star wide receiver from Danville, Ky., offered a verbal commitment to West Virginia on Monday. Smith attends Boyle County High School, which is Brown’s alma mater. Rivals rates Smith as the No. 8 recruit in the state of Kentucky in next year’s class.
Rivals’ Keenan Cummings describes Smith as having “excellent ball skills and balance” as well as being “fearless across the middle to boot.
