West Virginia Ends Season with Loss to Oklahoma

The Mountaineers fell behind 1-0, as the team dropped back-to-back matches at the No. 2 and No. 1 doubles slots by a score of 6-2 and 6-3, respectively.

With West Virginia down 1-0, the Mountaineers were unable to mount a comeback in singles action. The Sooners captured three straight wins to record a 4-0 triumph over the Mountaineers.

“Today’s match didn’t go as planned from the start,” said third-year coach Miha Lisac. “We were too passive in doubles to take charge of the match. That gave Oklahoma an advantage going into singles. Habiba (Shaker), Carolina (Lewis) and Paula (Goetz) fought well.
