FRISCO, Texas — Kentucky transfer receiver Jeff Badet apparently was leaning toward spending his senior season at West Virginia until Ogbonnia Okoronkwo flashed some persuasive bling.
Oklahoma’s All-Big 12 linebacker served as host when Badet visited Norman in March. At the time, Badet already had toured WVU and was impressed by the Mountaineers’ offense.
Then Okoronkwo produced his Big 12 championship ring.
“He was telling me that he was really sold on (West Virginia), then I was like, ‘Come win, you know?’” Okoronkwo said. “Because we’re going to win. And when you’ve got Baker Mayfield throwing you passes, like I don’t see how can turn that down.
